Assigned seating at weddings is a special touch that shows your guests you care for them and have selected the most comfortable place for them. The escort cards should always be well organized and user-friendly. Creative escort card presentation that leaves the confines of the table can add pizazz and personalization.

For this romantic, garden inspired wedding at the Seawell Ballroom, WM Events designed a unique hanging presentation of real leaves which guests “picked” from the vine to find their seats.

For my brother’s 50th birthday, my mission was to design a party that would honor him on this big day. Keeping to a strict budget, I only used items I had on hand or could re-purpose later.
He definitely felt loved with my very personal design for him.
His kids ages 4, 8, and 16, all pitched in to create the festive banner.

READER BEWARE: This is not so sexy, but I wanted to share a bit of my real life and show you a glimpse of Will the Handy Man.

Record breaking rains this winter have plagued me with a water problem in my basement. After a bit of research, I designed an easy solution to ease the pain of the water problem. Here is my easy 5 step Sump Pump installation which saved me hundreds of dollars.

The Main Event –

Step ONE:

Select the lowest point where the water can collect and bust a  hole in in the concrete. I used my brand new super-deluxe sledge hammer.

Step TWO: Dig a hole approximately 2 times the size of the well. Discard the excess clay soil.

Step THREE: Line the hole with drainage rocks or pea gravel.

Step FOUR: For the Well – I repurposed a plastic Ikea trash can – drilling holes in the bottom.  Set the well  in place.

Step FIVE:

Add more drainage rock around the well – set the pump in place.

While this is not the solution to my problem, it is taking away a bit of the hassle.

Here is how WM Events  used this year’s #1 hue to enhance a beautiful destination Indian wedding at the Ritz Carlton in Avon, CO.

Don’t wear your heart on sleeve, but do use it to raise money for the Children’s Heart Foundation of Denver.  WM Events designed and executed this romantic and artistic charity event. The “He-art” Auction Benefit used multi-media effects to carry the theme to every detail of the party.

You could eat your heart out over the sculptural florals, the dramatic lighting, the plasma wall of roses, our custom built heart chandelier and the HEART ATTACK confetti blast at the end of the event.

When entertainment mogul Devyne Stephens throws a party, no detail is forgotten.  This years holiday gala was no exception and definitely fit its theme, “Puttin on the Ritz.”

WM Events provided support for the management and design of this spectacular event.

The Grand Overlook of the Atlanta History Center  was transformed with new carpet, drapery, and a spectacular special effects package  that included a rose petal blast, snow storm, and fiber optic backdrop.

This gala affair not only supported Mr. Stephen’s foundation, Devyne Intervention, but also made a large donation to the Hugh’s Spalding Center at Children’s Hospital.

The evening was Emceed by Mr. Frank Ski, and presentations were given by Sidney Miller, Joel Katz, just to name a few.

Mr. Stephen’s made a grand entrance with a team of six white draft horses and a police escort. As guests entered the room, rose petals gently fell from the ballroom sky. The night culminated with a “Devyne” dance performance that included show girls and a Dancing With The Stars-style performance.

Party guests enjoyed danced into the night with music by DJ Drama.

Unite for Haiti, an event crafted by design genius Micahael Habachy and a cast of dashing do gooders including Jane Nix, Pamela Mallinga and Eugenia Poirot, was a spectacular event to help the people of Haiti. Spun in just a week’s time, the event was a true grass roots effort. It was promoted entirely on Facebook drawing over 300 fashionable friendlings  to Unite for the Casue.

Donations at the door, a raffle and silent auction were organized with plenty of prizes  from places like : Owen Lawrence, Habachy Designs, U Restaurants, Twelve Floral Boutique and many more. Loca Luna and Silk provided a delicious spread ; WM Events detailed the scene with stylish effecst from our partners at  Affairs  and Peachtree Tents.

The best part of it all was the whopping $16,000 raised for  CARE, Save The Children and Partners in Health – now that is uniting for a cause!

Here is a glimpse of the Spring Asian Tablescape at Affairs to Remember Caterers . The table linen was Spring Kyoto reversible over Cornsilk lamour. For a pop of color, Cerise chair shams were used on the Gold Chivari chairs from Peachtree Tents and Events.

A contemporary selection of Affairs in-house collection of china and crystal finished the look.

City Councilman Kwanza Hall’s 2nd annual “Kwanzaa with Kwanza” celebrated the holiday’s most cherished traditions.  The event, chaired by Yewende Austin of  the Global Institute of Diversity, was held at Les Maison Rouge for over 250 guests.

WM Events was a proud sponsor and handled the evenings design style.

I am finally posting about the second day celebration of the spectacular Indian-American wedding, mentioned a few weeks ago. Alyssa & Berham wanted to include both of their cultures in their marriage, which lead to two different ceremonies on two separate days. The Ritz Carlton in Bachelors Gulch, Colorado went above and beyond, as only the Ritz does, to accomodate these two magnificent weddings. Denver floral designer Lisa Weddel created a totally different look for the Western ceremony, utilizing some of the pieces from the previous day’s Indian Ceremony, carefully intertwining both looks and cultures. Stephen Pranger of Crysalas provided ceremony music that incorporated giant gorgeous crystal bowls, chimes and wind instuments. The iconic Tommy LeRoux of the Nacho Men provided the reception music which took us into not one, but three extensions of the party that went into the wee hours. CR Brinton of Brinton Studios captured every moment of this weekend perfectly.

The setting, fabulous guests, and overall experience was unforgettable.

WM Events and Affairs to Remember are front and center in the corporate event feature of this season’s Atlanta Occasions Magazine. The Ultimate Reveal was the introduction of the Porsche Panamera, the iconic car makers first 4-door sedan. This event was definitely unforgettable.
