As much road real estate box trucks and 18 footers take up, they should at least be something beautiful to look at. Taking place in Spain, Truck Art Project is not only an incredible way for artists to show their work, but also an incredible way for people to experience art.

According to the project, created by art collector Jaime Colsa, “This is a fleet of 100 trucks that serve as support or canvas for different artists of the contemporary scene to perform their usual trade routes throughout the Spanish geography.” With a fleet of 100 trucks, urban and contemporary graffiti artists are creating some of their best work on these rolling canvases. Some of the trucks are even carrying pieces of art that the artists are taking to shows! Truck Art Project 2016 artists include- Carlos Aires, Celia Macias, Chiqui Carabante, Felipe Pantone, Garraza, Matias Sanchez, and Paredes sixe.

The beauty of this project is that it’s bringing art to some places that have never seen such culture. You can even track the galleries and the truck routes. Take a look at some of last year’s trucks!

Last week we teamed up with Peachtree Tents & Events and Collection Event Rentals to design the hottest party our industry has ever seen! But it wasn’t just us three. Also part of the dream team was Magnum, The Off-Centered Project, Balloonacy, FlipnPics, Monte Carlo Productions, and Raising the Bar – just to name a few!

We transformed the Peachtree Tents & Events warehouse into the ultimate disco party! We pink carpeted the space, hung silver and gold mylar drape and thematic signage. We even built a swing, brought in a giant champagne glass and a life-size horse statue adorned by a model! DJ Mike Zarin pumped up the party with funky beats and led the night to be a great one. Guests were encouraged to dress the theme, but there was also the option of 70’s swag around every corner of the party!

For seventy-three years now, the world”s most talented designers have come together every February for the year’s semi-annual New York Fashion Week. The past two weeks have been filled of stunning colors, incredible designs and hundreds of flashing lights. Sheer and leather, bows and fur, lines and floral, burgundy, blue and emerald. The up and coming trends are nearly endless! The use of metallic colors and the 2016 pantone colors also made appearances in nearly every designer’s creations.

Valentine’s Day is the most popular day for red roses. But those red (or any other color roses) won’t last forever. Create your own flower embedded jewelry with the help of Romanian artist, Paula Schiau.

Look out world, Rose Quartz & Serenity are taking over! Pantone 13-1520 & Pantone 15-3919 have won the title of Pantone Colors of the year!  That’s right, BOTH of these colors are blending together to create the hottest color palette of 2016- or better yet, the coolest!

Rose Quartz & Serenity are more than just colors though. According to Pantone, “many parts of the world we are experiencing a gender blur as it relates to fashion, which has in turn impacted color trends throughout all other areas of design. This more unilateral approach to color is coinciding with societal movements toward gender equality and fluidity, the consumer’s increased comfort with using color as a form of expression, a generation that has less concern about being typecast or judged and an open exchange of digital information that has opened our eyes to different approaches to color usage.”

Super Bowl L is just around the corner and you haven’t thought about your party yet?! Putting on a Super Bowl party is definitely something that can be overwhelming but it’s also a fun and interactive event idea. We have designed quite a few tailgate and football themed events, and this year, we want to showcase a few thing that are sure to make your Super Bowl party a touchdown!

Think beyond the buffalo chicken dip and hot wings. A great party is nothing without a little pizzazz and decor. Grab those pom poms and footballs and create a centerpiece! Better yet, really wow your guests with a custom chain link fence display! Even adding custom printed football teams’ pillows will surprise your guests with your attention to detail.

On January 8 of this year, astronaut Scott Kelly tweeted a photo of an alien-like green-leafed stem with the caption, “Some of my space flowers are on the rebound! No longer looking sad! #YearInSpace” Naturally, the tweet received a lot of attention with followers eagerly anticipating the first photo of a full bloom flower that had been grown in space.

Come January 16th, the wait was over. From the International Space Station, Kelly tweeted the first photo of this out of our world flower. Grown in zero gravity, this stunningly vibrant flower is the first of its kind- a morale-boosting plant that is anticipated to enhance the isolating environment the astronauts have to live in.

Don’t you hate it when you attend an event and you have to wait for everyone or even the photographer to upload their photos from it? Upshot can cut down that wait time to just 3 minutes! The most intriguing part of this app is that you don’t even have to take your photos in the app in order to have them shared.

Upshot uses your camera, and after a short 3 minutes is able to upload your photos for other users at the event to have access to them. Users can view, download, share, like and comment on the photos in the stream. But they better act quick if they want to save the moments because the stream will disappear a week after the event is over. The stream can be synced up to a Facebook group so even non-users have access to the photos.

This could just be the next best photography option for those Mitzvahs and the new trend of using your friends and family as your wedding photographer!

Last year, we introduced you to 5 next-level photo booths. Each unique with their features and sleek design, these photo booths are sure to vamp up your guests’ experience regardless of the event. But what happens when the line builds up at these fun photo booths when guests are waiting for their photos? PhotoTap has completely eliminated this!

PhotoTap, in Hollywood, Florida, is one of a kind being that it’s the first of it’s kind! Guests will receive a wristband/lanyard that contains their Facebook, Twitter and/or email accounts. Once a PhotoTap photographer snaps the photo, they simply tap the wristband/lanyard with with the photographer’s scanner. BOOM! The photo is instantly sent to whichever accounts have been set up on that particular device.

The creativity of this photo experience doesn’t stop there. A logo can easily be added to photos and a hashtag can be paired as well. This company has thought of nearly everything to create a seamless photo booth for every kind of event. It’s almost as if they’re the paparazzi of the party!

The New Year is upon us and as we are preparing to take on another incredible year of extravagant events, there are a few events from 2015 that we want to reminiscence on! So many beautiful events and only more to come this year!

2015 is about to be over and we have seen and put on some incredible events! But what should we expect from the event world and event designers, such as us here at WM Events, in 2016?

One thing that the event world is breaking into is technology. The way event design and the event itself can provide an experience as a whole, especially with technology. Technology can enhance an event from the photo booth to the video mapping of the conference. There could be 3D printing demos or even virtual reality games. Technology is an incredible way to keep your audience engaged and always provides a fresh approach to an event.

Branding is another huge thing that will continue to take over the event world in 2016. Branding guidelines are up and coming with how the design of the event can be executed because a personal experience has become critical, especially with millennials. An event can be branded simply with customized pillows, menus, GOBOs, or with over-sized letters spelling out the company’s name. The brilliance of branding your event is that whether it’s subtle or not, guests are sure to know who you are.

Lastly, one thing we pride ourselves in at WM Events is that we are a one-stop-shop. This is definitely something that is becoming a trend that we will see more of in 2016. Event designers are taking charge and becoming their own florists and their own vendors. Being a one-stop-shop is incredibly beneficial for you, as a client, because you’re dealing with us and only us- meaning there is less of connecting the dots and connecting various vendors with your event planner.

There are a plethora of Christmas tree trends that sweep the nation every year. There is the traditional tinsel and popcorn garland. Then there are the gingerbread ornaments that add the final Christmas smells to your house for the season. And how can we forget the upside down Christmas trees?

This year, some of the up and coming trends have been deconstructed Christmas trees and floral Christmas trees.

The deconstructed Christmas tree is everything but the tree itself. This was actually an art installation called Christmas Three by Method. The idea behind this install at the TEA Building in London, was to have guests stop and reflect on their year, what is to come next year, and what a Christmas tree actually means. According to their instagram, “Evergreen trees are a Pagan symbol of life brought inside the home to celebrate the winter solstice.” The three pieces of the install were as simple as Christmas tree chippings, lights and ornaments.

Floral Christmas trees are definitely a trend that is here to stay. With a variety of ways to create this look, the possibilities of a fresh, new look are endless. Use large paper flowers or dainty fresh flowers. String flowers together to create a flower garland or scatter them throughout the tree.
