ATLANTA (June 25, 2021) – Atlanta-based event design firm WM Events is thrilled to announce that company principal and founder William Fogler was honored with the 2021 Dale Riggins Humanitarian Award by the Allie Awards Board of Directors. Announced at the hybrid Allie Awards event last month, the Legacy Award recognizes individuals who truly make a difference to those in need and whose effects give the Atlanta special events industry its true impact and high profile.

In addition to receiving this significant honor, Fogler was nominated for a second Legacy Award – the new Innovator Award, launched to acknowledge the trailblazers and trendsetters of the hospitality and event industry.

“I am humbled and grateful to be recognized by my colleagues,” said Fogler. “To follow in the footsteps of other Dale Riggins Humanitarian Award recipients is such an honor. I love this industry and couldn’t imagine doing anything else.”

Since arriving in Atlanta in 2004, Fogler has supported nonprofits and the Atlanta community in many ways, giving of his time and expertise, as well as contributing financially. A board member of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Hughes Spalding, for several years, in 2019, he dedicated a family lounge in the hospital’s sickle cell transfusions area.

During summer 2020, when Atlanta-based nonprofit SwemKids was unable to provide life-saving water safety and swimming lessons to children through schools free of charge to change the disparity of drowning rates among the Black community, Fogler opened his large home pool to the organization and provided scholarships to children for whom cost was an issue.

These are just two examples of Fogler’s ongoing work in the community.

One of three nominees for the new Innovator Award, Fogler earned the recognition for the 2020 launch of “re:EVENT-ion,” a new arm of WM Events dedicated to digital, distanced, and virtual events.
