This Around the World event was unlike any other. In just one night, guests traveled from Atlanta, GA all the way to Greece, Japan and London! And get this- WM Events transported guests to all of these beautiful countries without even leaving the party! Guests were welcomed at the Georgia Freight Depot by a train engineer while they grabbed their passports to prepare for the night of world traveling! Social Box made an appearance to allow the guests to have take-away photo strips of the energetic night.

In the Atlanta room, guests enjoyed a live jazz band and luxury lounge furniture. Vintage illuminated letters were hung in front of dramatic drapery to complete the look and feel of the room. Luxurious linens covered the cocktail and highboy tables, while elegant red, white and blue floral arrangements added pops of color.

Next stop: Greece! Dramatic cyan lights highlighted the Parthenon structure backdrop. Nearby, wooden market carts were styled with ancient statues, flags, baskets and relics to pull the Greek atmosphere together. Marble columns served as the bases for elegant, natural centerpieces on traditional highboy tables as well as communal, light-up highboys.

As guests moved deeper into the venue, Japan was the next stop on the travel itinerary. Lanterns hanging from an oversized Japanese pagoda, bamboo centerpieces and a sushi bar gave the guests a glimpse of the Japanese culture. Modern, black and red furniture offered gathering points for guests to congregate.

Last stop: London! Big Ben and armored knights set the scene for this English party. An Union Jack umbrella installation hung from the ceiling and the Queen’s crowns dressed the tables. Red and blue satin linens carried the theme through the table design.

At the end of the night, a flash mob entertained guests while the desserts descended from the ceiling on a motorized truss! A stage backdrop of crystal chandeliers provided the perfect setting for Party Nation to rock the house all night long. Thematic signage replicated old train station stops to signify the delicious food stations.

WM Events had the honor of creating the third Mitzvah for the Shelanski family, and you know what they say: “third time’s the charm!” You may recall Lily’s CSI Bat Mitzvah or Dan’s Urban Street Bar Mitzvah, but Julia’s Bat Mitzvah really takes the cupcake! LITERALLY! With the “Baked by Julia”  theme, the youngest of the Shelanski’s enjoyed a custom mini cupcake display, a roaming circus act, and candy everywhere- even hanging from the ceiling!

The eclectic Seawell Grand Ballroom teamed up with Epicurean Group and DTP Events to put on the sweetest Bat Mitzvah Denver has ever seen! Julia’s entrance kicked off the celebration with her very own drum solo with the help of Starkey Entertainment. Zorn Photography captured all of the dance moves, laughs, and candy infused decor.

The hexagonal shape, singular or in a pattern, is nothing new but the use of these polygons has recently become an immaculate design aspect. It’s not just hexagons that are bee-coming the next big thing; even pentagons, heptagons, and octagons are getting some buzz! Even with harsh corners, a cluster of these can allude to a softer and more rounded shape, a unique tranquility between Mother Nature and the ever-changing design world. SocialBox is a personal favorite of ours here at WM Events. Grab some props, step into the modern-day photo booth, and take a selfie or a video with your friends! Get the VIP treatment throughout the party while your photos and videos circulate through the live feed monitor on top of the SocialBox. Add a hashtag and have your photos and videos connected to social media. You can even brand the SocialBox itself, as well the printed photos! And when you’re finished, the photos are printed right then and there!

Steven Rosenwasser wanted to do something unique and unforgettable for his wife on their 10th Wedding Anniversary.  His dreams for the event exceeded the more traditional surprise party, and in the end, a full marching band, an a cappella choir, a food truck, a DJ, and 80 of the couple’s closest friends and family all came together in a perfectly timed surprise to create an amazing party! When Steven reached out to us about planning and designing this over-the-top event, we knew we couldn’t say no to this once in a lifetime opportunity!

This incredible event has been featured on People Magazine and the local Atlanta news. We are so grateful to have been involved from beginning to end. Check out the pictures below and see just what an amazing surprise this was, and be sure to watch the video of the entire evening!

On the morning of the party, Kelli left for a spa day with her best friend, and she had no idea that incredible surprises waiting for her when she returned! As the bride spent the morning at the salon, the WM Events team installed an elegant party scene in the couple’s backyard. Comfortable lounge seating, market lights, and fire pits created a romantic and intimate setting for the evening’s festivities. Vase wrap centerpieces featuring pictures of Steven and Kelli throughout the years together topped the tables. Red rose floral arrangements recalled the flowers from their wedding 10 years ago. An apple cider specialty drink and the Ibiza Bites Food Truck were all set to keep guests well fed throughout the evening!

The surprise was not just for Kelli! Even the guests were in the dark about the amazing night that was in store for them. As guests began arriving for the event, they enjoyed a cocktail reception inside while they waited for Kelli to return from the spa.

As Kelli pulled up to the street, she was given a blindfold and brought into the house to change into her dress for the ceremony. The marching band, a capella group, and guests took their places in the cul-de-sac to prepare for the main event.

When the bride was ready, it was time for the surprises to begin! Kelli met Steven at the top of the driveway, reminding her, “You always told me when it comes to love, actions speak louder than words.” Right on cue, the marching band filed in from the street playing “Hey, Baby!” They were followed by 80 of Kelli and Steven’s friends and family, who were each carrying a candle. Finally, Steven and Kelli’s two daughters carried in her red rose bouquet and a sign reading “Will You Marry Me…Again?”

The couple made their way to the chuppah to renew their vows. The University of Georgia’s women’s a cappella group performed two songs, “I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You” and Billy Joel’s “You’re My Home,” Kellli and Steven’s wedding song.

After the beautiful ceremony, it was time to get the party started! The marching band serenaded guests as they moved to the backyard for the party. A full bar, a dessert buffet, and a s’mores station accommodated guests during the party. A DJ kept this amazing celebration going late into the evening. Guests can certainly say this was a once in a lifetime experience!

We were so happy to be a part of this incredible event! We can’t wait to see what the next 10 years has in store for this amazing couple.

With fascinating lights, people, displays, and spectacles at every turn, Las Vegas has always been a source of inspiration for us at WM Events. On a trip out west this spring, we saw how the desert oasis celebrates the blossoming season in style. Here at WM Events, it’s no surprise that we love the Chelsea Flower Show. No really- we LOVE the Chelsea Flower Show! And with a hodgepodge of visually stimulating floral and garden inspiration, this year was just as exciting. 157,000 visitors gathered to see all the newest designs, installations, and flower types last week.

Georgie Boy, a new daffodil species named for the bouncing Royal Baby of Prince William and Duchess Kate made his debut at the show this year. Speaking of celebrities, George’s great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth was there to walk through the trench garden, honoring the 100 year anniversary of WWI. Benedict Cumberbatch and Rowan Atkinson were also out and about during the show. But without further ado, see what you missed in the photos below.

Inspiration is everywhere. And if you don’t believe us, then look no further than these manhole covers on the streets of Japan and France. These necessary contraptions have an obvious utilitarian function. However, Japan has taken this forgotten, everyday item and used the space to add visual interest to their streets.

The island nation boasts almost 6,000 sewer covers around the country, and have invested in turning a decidedly unglamorous necessity into museum-worthy art. Below are some of photographer Morita’s best shots to show you how they do things across the Pacific.

Meanwhile in France, Method Graphics takes the Parisian beauty ideals to the streets in his own way. Just outside of luxurious fashion houses, the street artist is living up to his profession in one of the most interesting ways you could imagine. With a decidedly illicit approach, the artist adorns the manhole covers with alligator patterns and gilded accents. The drab gray concrete background heightens the contrast of these embellished covers, and makes the average passer-by really take notice. I can imagine using this idea for a hip, street party mitzvah, or using the color schemes to inspire a table design. Check out how the streets of Paris have benefited from Method Graphic’s conversions in the pictures below.

Sony has just released a new advertisement displaying their incredible understanding of all things visual. In this aesthetically pleasing video, the crew took over the Irazu Volcano in Costa Rica, dumping over 8 million flower petals into the crater. Mimicing an eruption, they covered the town below in the blossoms and filmed the residents enjoying the floral rain. The results are stunning! But don’t take my word for it- watch the video below.

We kicked off this month with an exciting, over-the-top party for a large hotel management group. Guests were invited to the historic Georgia Freight Depot for an evening of jazz n’ juleps, honey suckles n’ highballs, and bluegrass n’ BBQ. Juxtaposing classic Southern charm with modern urban beats, this event was a celebration of Atlanta.

A jazz quintet, costumed southern greeters, and pimento flavored popcorn welcomed guests to this modern Southern affair. The venue’s porch and outdoor space, accented with vintage Southern styling, provided the first stop for guests. Party goers dined on three styles of BBQ and used clothespin ballots to vote on their favorite. The band Love Canon played popular 80’s hits with a bluegrass twist as guests enjoyed hand-rolled cigars in a comfortable outdoor smoking lounge. Rocking chairs, romantic sheer drapery, and mason jar candle-lined railings completed the space. Check out PWP Studio‘s incredible photos below!

A customized living moss wall in the venue’s front lobby transformed the space into a Southern garden party. Costumed train conductors welcomed guests aboard for this extravagant affair. Elaborate drapery, comfortable traditional-style lounge groupings, and an over-the-top cherry blossom floral arrangement created a sleek blues lounge. Iconic blues singer Francine Reed gave an intimate performance. A clear top tent on the patio added another layer to this romantic southern garden party.

The venue’s Freight Room really captured the event’s theme and highlighted the juxtaposition of old and new South. As guests entered the main room, they were greeted with an 18-foot cherry laurel tree complete with swinging trapeze artists. As guests moved through the room, the romantic Southern styling transitioned into a chic modern vibe. Large hoops surrounding chandeliers, wire spheres, and hanging crystals created a dynamic ceiling treatment. Sleek white and chrome furniture, glowing bars and food stations, and 8′ tall DJ risers completed this hip Southern look. Guests were really amazed as a 25 person flash mob erupted in the party, dancing to Quad City DJ’s “C’mon ‘N Ride It.”  Immediately after the dance, guests got a second surprise as desserts descended from the ceiling on two 20′ trusses. A DJ scratch-off and high energy performance from Party Nation kept guests dancing well into the evening.

After watching this documentary on how cork is made, we began to see a lot of products and ideas incorporating this sustainable material. Because of its impermeability, buoyancy, elasticity and fire resistance, cork is used in a variety of industries. And it’s super sustainable! Instead of cutting down the entire tree, farmers only harvest the bark once every 9 years.
