Being that this father of the bride’s daughter was the first wedding WM Events planned in Atlanta, we couldn’t say no when he called us up to help him surprise his wife for their 40th wedding anniversary!
On a Saturday night in July, Darlene went to Atlanta with her husband, Bob, without having any idea what she was in store for. Guests anxiously waiting with cocktails and branded fans. While walking up to the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center, she figured it was just a tour – she had no idea 100 of her closest friends and family from all walks of life were waiting in the garden. Bob led her outside into the garden and she was overwhelmed with an incredible surprise.
Just when Darlene thought the surprises were over, everyone was ushered to the Grand Overlook Ballroom for the remainder of the night. Guests were greeted by a famous Savannah statue garden in front of a hedge wall. On the other side lied a red velvet cake surrounded by photos of the couple. The night kicked off with Savannah’s own Bucky & Barry while finishing out with DJ Mike Zarin. Lush trees and hanging plants created an intimate garden in the middle of the History Center. Branded pillows dressed chic settees while tables were topped with intricate floral arrangements and runners. When the celebration was over, everyone left with specialty bottles of red wine.
